SINCE 1901
ROOTED IN HISTORY
Located on the hillsides of Grézillac, a few kilometers from Saint-Émilion, Château Reynier is a 15th-century fortified manor. Today, two generations work side on the estate.
Pauline, the first woman to take the reins of the estate, brings a fresh perspective to the family venture. She and her parents combine their strengths to craft wines that blend respect for Bordeaux tradition with a distinctly modern and purpose-driven vision.
SINCE 1901: A CENTURY OF LURTON PASSION
The ancient manor house, once a staging post on the Camino de Santiago, bears the name of an illustrious 16th-century owner, Lord Jean Reynier. In 1901, Léonce Récapet, Marc Lurton's great-grandfather, acquired the property.
In 1956, the estate was passed down to Dominique Lurton, before his son Marc, a trained oenologist, took over its management in 1996 with his wife Agnès. Today, a new chapter is being written with their second daughter Pauline, who represents the 5th generation on these lands.
A LIVING VIINEYARD
Respect for the environment is not a trend buta responsibility.
After years of sustainable viticulture and achieving HVE certification (High Environmental Value), we took the decisive step: the vineyard has been officially certified Organic since the 2022 vintage.
This choice guarantees the production of grapes grown without synthetic chemicals, nourished by living soils. Our wines are also certified Vegan.
It is on this solid foundation, built on the vision of her ancestors and the high standards set by her parents, that Pauline continues the family venture today.
THE POWER OF LIMESTONE
The Reynier terroir is defined by its complexity: clay soils over an asteria limestone subsoil. This unique geology gives our wines their distinctive structure and freshness.
The 30-hectare vineyard is planted with the noble grape varieties of Bordeaux: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for our reds and rosés and Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle for our whites.
THE SECRET OF THE CELLAR
One of the estate’s distinctive features is its ancestral cellar - an old stone quarry located beneath the château, where constant humidity and temperature provide ideal conditions for aging our red wines.
